The Mushroom Hunting Foundation is teaching a workshop about local edible and medicinal wild mushrooms. First, you will learn how to identify them safely, during an amazing slideshow that uses all-local photography. Then you will work hands-on with several great species, learning how to prepare them…and how delicious they are!
Ryan T. Bouchard is the author and photographer of the new “Educalendar” called Gourmet Mushrooms of the Northeast 2019 (available at Gather!). He also created Gourmet Mushrooms of Rhode Island 2013, the first book about mushroom hunting in the Ocean State.
Emily Schmidt studies the medicinal and nutritional values of our local wild mushroom species, and the many delicious ways they can be prepared. She and her partner Ryan co-created The Mushroom Hunting Foundation, and together they teach people how to safely enjoy America’s edible wild mushrooms.
